Technology Overview Many practical solutions for storing data in encrypted form on untrusted clouds are now available commercially. However, users of public cloud services often require the ability to define and execute certain computation on their encrypted data. Achieving scalable privacy-preserving execution of user-defined computation on encrypted data, while relying purely on commodity cloud hardware infrastructure, is an important goal. Trusted Data Service (or TDS) is a Java library for doing secure big-data analytics. It provides a trade-off in security and performance when doing big-data analytics on untrusted clouds. TDS targets outsourced applications containing sensitive data. TDS offers two approaches in securing big-data applications: one based on homomorphic encryption, and another based on secure execution of user-defined functions. Development Status
